I have been training since January to be a docent at the new National Gallery Singapore, which opens in November 2015. The program is for volunteer guides who serve as the Gallery’s “ambassadors” to welcome visitors.
I am passionate about art, history and culture and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge
with visitors to the Gallery, which is housed in the Former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings.
Singapore’s National Collection is the world’s leading collection of modern and contemporary art from Southeast Asia, and includes over 10,000 works. The Gallery aims to be the centre for research, discussion and publications on the modern art of the region, to provide wide access and fresh understanding of a unique visual heritage.
